  I love this place sometimes I’ve managed to get a room to myself as it’s 2/3 & 4 bed rooms. Very frustrating though when I arrived and it was fully booked on another occasion and I stayed at la mochila instead. Great craic for food at mochila but the privacy and showers at hogar are much superior

  I booked a bed at the Albergue via BuenKmino, and the owner turned me away when I tried to check in even after I showed him the confirmation. Jose seemed disorganized because it took a while for him to check his calendar (only after he sold two bottles of wine to another local), and when he did, he checked the dates for June, July, until I helped him locate the month of October and then the date. He said my reservation was not written down so he couldn't help me. Luckily, I arrived in Itero around 1:30 pm, which was early enough (on a Sunday) for me to find another bed in town.

  I want to think the family who runs the hostal means well but just beware of potential complications if you're booking this place online. You're probably better off calling and speaking to the owner in Spanish.
